Is your equipment in a sealed enclosure? Does it live outdoors? Check out the "Outdoor Box" calculator on CoolingZone. This calculator will give you the average temperature of the air inside the box as well as surface temperatures, provided you supply it with some key information: size, heat load, heat transfer coefficients inside and out, solar loading, radiative properties and ambient temperature. Call or e-mail if you need help determining any of those.

Case Study

Recently, a client needed to size vents on the front of the system enclosure. A colleague had suggested totaling up the area of all the fans inside the box, and using that for the vent area.
